The T-shirt material, if shrunk, would mean that the individual stitch holes in the fabric will get closer together and also tighter on the embroidery thread. Unfortunately the embroidery thread is almost never 100% cotton because as a thread it isn’t that strong. As the fabric holds the embroidery thread and shrinks the thread just gets baggy. Imagine if you will a rope held taught between two grasped hands. Without releasing your grip move your hands closer together, saggy rope.
