The first FIVE years, NO store stocked appropriate clothing past the Detroit Lions gritty city shirt Besides,I will do this end of August. Apparently we were all supposed to be psychic and know exactly how many sizes our children would go through each year. (My son grew 3 sizes one year, skipped a year, then another two sizes the following year, etc. but we couldn’t find any more clothes! We learned early to get – essentially – THREE full sets of clothes just in case he did grow…and uniforms were supposed to be saving families money??) Today? ONLY elementary kids are still stuck in uniforms, but the high schools – the entire REASON they started the stupid uniforms in the first place – no longer require them! I’m so glad all of mine still in school are finally in high school. No more extra money spent on “uniforms”, no extra washing, no extra laundry detergent, no extra water or heat needed to run the washer and dryer pretty much constantly and didn’t save us parents a dime. It ended up COSTING us more money than the savings we were supposed to get from it. It was a nightmare…and still is for those in the younger grades. SMH im not a parent, but you should wear your uniform however the school wants you to. This means buttoning the top button for the whole day, and wearing the blazer.
