To the Goat CeeDee Lamb of Dallas Cowboys shirt besides I will buy this extent that being selected as a “Top Writer” and being included in the anthology is meaningful, it’s as a possible indication that someone, somewhere, somehow found what I wrote useful (or even good, one can dare to hope). An accidental printing omission doesn’t detract from that, and they say I’ll have an answer in a future volume, so I can’t complain. Since I’ve been writing on Quora, I’ve gotten a lot of free distribution and publishing —with ~90,000 followers on Tumblr I hadn’t gotten anywhere near this amount— and the semi-perpetual association of my answers with a topic system that makes them accessible if they’re ever to be useful again. Everything one writes elsewhere has such short shelf-life, so little chance to matter or be useful to people in the future unless they find you, search it out. I feel happy to get this more or less for free.
