Responsible and sustainable production is becoming more prevalent. There are checks and balances out their with organizations like Fashion Hope FASHION HOPE The other dark side of fashion is that it has become so disposable. I know people who shop for new clothes on a weekly basis. Some people I know will wear something once or twice and then don’t want to be seen wearing again. What happens to all of this discarded clothing? Hopefully it ends up in consignment shops or charity based thrift and resale stores, but unfortunately a lot of it ends up ripped, stained and in the I need ammunition not a ride Zelensky T-shirt in contrast I will get this trash. Garment waste is a problem. I personally like to shop at second hand stores and rescue discarded clothing the same way some people like to support rescuing pets. It’s important to me. I’ve found some awesome and amazing things in second hand stores. I am working on a post apocalyptic style fashion collection that will be derived from deconstructing and reconstructing discarded clothing. I have a friend who’s making a living doing this and I follow other designers doing it. I think it’s cool and environmentally conscious.
